Flywheels are 30% more effective than the upside down pyramid.
I'm not from Edelman, but I've known the term to refer to a growth strategy designed to be a self-sustaining cycle. It's like the familiar concept of flywheel theory in business, but referring to growth driven not by paid advertising but by customer satisfaction. For instance, customers would be attracted by posting great content designed to create organic awareness. Ideally, the effort put in would have a cumulative effect, as in flywheel theory.
It sure is the buzzword of the moment but I have no clue what it is.
It’s like a spinny wheel thing that breaks down awareness to conversion
And then we spin again
(Looks like the MAC rainbow wheel of doom)
Omnicom literally has an agency called Flywheel. This is not new. Connecting it to the (potential) commercial impact of earned media is interesting. But who knows whether earned will continue to inform LLM’s. The entire model could be temporary as the landscape lurches from one tech reality to the next. What you could count on two months ago is out of date tomorrow.
