Signed up for a matchmaking service a couple months ago after getting tired of the apps. And while I’ve been underwhelmed with their process so far, I finally have my first match date this weekend. Haven’t been on a date since pre-pandemic. And never been on a true blind date like this. Wish me luck.

I matched with a guy and we initially agreed to meet for the first time this coming Friday. Last Wed, he sent two messages on the app with suggestions but I wasn’t able to text back until Sat because I was traveling. He unmatched me. Am I in the wrong here? I’ve learned recently about some traumatic events that family members of mine have gone through but I had no idea had occurred. Besides my parents divorcing I really have not experienced that many hardships or trauma in my life. Sometimes it makes me worry if I’m due for something bad to happen, if the other shoe was going to drop at some point. I know hardships are a part of life and I feel like I have had far less than normal

I’ve only slept with one person, my wife. I have not openly shared this with anyone because there’s a stigma that I “settled” or I don’t have numbers on the board like a man should. I’m not overly religious, so that was never a driver in the equation. I admit, I do think about the “what if” every once in awhile but I’m honestly getting to the age where I feel I’m beyond my prime anyhow.

My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.

The only thing I truly care about is money and I’ve tried hard to not be this way but I can’t help it. My parents came from nothing and I refuse to ever “feel poor” again

Love how BS credit score is. Got my score up to 800 last month only to go on vacation so my credit utilization went up to 8% due to the increased spending and my score dropped 35 points because I didn’t immediately pay the balance after charging the purchases. I always pay my balance in full each month and have never missed a payment, how is 8% credit utilization determined to be that big of a risk that my score got immediately wrecked, I don’t understand
