In FAAS in the east coast, and EY1 pretty much said everything I was going to say. I came from audit at another big4 and the wlb is so much better, the working is a lot more interesting, and the cherry on top be get paid more. I don’t have a single regret about switching into FAAS

I’m based out of the West with FAAS but I do have to say overall I think the culture is great and I honestly don’t think I’ve been on a team yet where for the most part everyone got along fantastically. Work/life balance though is very dependent on the type of engagements you’re staffed on, if it’s a SPAC or M&A there’s probably a tighter deadline and longer hours but the year prior to November last year I’d say there were only a handful of weeks in the 12 months prior where I worked 50+ hours and I was a senior at the time.
I am not in FAAS but know several people in the Chicago FAAS group. I like and respect the ones I know.
Former EY Chicago FAAS person here. EY1 pretty much covered work/life balance, so I just wanted to add that the team is great. In general, a smart group of people and I enjoyed working with them.
Could anyone tell me about the types of projects you worked on in the Chicago office? I’m looking to move out of audit after 5 years and FAAS seems like something interesting but very diverse.
