When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.

Whenever i have a big deadline, my body goes into a panic mode where my energy immediately goes to figuring out how I’ll get something done well and on time. Outwardly, I don’t seem stressed so no one notices but actually I usually feel like I have a cold: fatigue, headache, sore throat, sinus infection. When a task is done, i stop feeling like crap. It’s been like this since law school. Any tips on managing stress or moving towards doing good work without my body shutting down lol?

I dont have anything recent but provided what I had from last yr in a legal writing class, it was not enough for them. I became licensed this May so I dont have an array of motions to pick from. Then they asked for my undergrad transcript, at this point, I am now annoyed They are not Biglaw. Are they going overboard

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? Did anyone lateral into big law? First year in insurance litigation defense and I’m looking to see if it’s even possible to break into big law in a year or two

Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner? I’m afraid of settling at a lower price than what they can do at the top end of the range! Do I anchor by asking for an outrageous figure or let them offer a salary figure first?

Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. I don’t know how to make this request.
