As compared to the Big4 an SVP is a mix between experienced manager and senior manager. Titles aren't as important here. Everyone helps and everyone puts in effort. I've seen Directors to low level staff work along with everyone else. As for pay, it's very hard to know because salaries aren't banded like at Big4. It's mostly based on experience, but I can say it's probably higher than what you're making now. Also bonuses are amazing (20-40%).

@ap1, I heard the workload is intense. That aside, do you enjoy working at AlixPartners in terms of the types of projects that come your way, and people you work with?
And what does SVP equal to at other firms??
My workload is only intense at times, but I'm not in restructuring so I can't speak to their work load. What group are you applying for? Overall, work can be intense, but we're very team oriented so everyone helps out. We don't depend on hoards of low level staff to get the work done. We like to say we're a diamond not a pyramid. So the quality of deliverables are higher and the people you work with are usually better and more intelligent.
Thanks! It's with their Financial Services group. On comp, would you say the VP salaries on Glassdoor are somewhat in line with what you've seen (around 165k base)? Also, what would be the sign-on bonus?
last year we had a renaming of titles. So the old VP is now SVP, which is probably what you see in Glassdoor. The Associate is now a VP so you may want to reference associate on Glassdoor for your salary research. Sign-on bonuses are generous. I negotiated mine down a little and added the difference to my base. I will say that the salary is probably higher than what you are making. It mostly depends on you and your experience.
