McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Would try to avoid having a dedicated delivery center position, unless you don't want to travel, or have a family. The delivery centers are almost their own firm -- they operate quite differently from the rest of Consulting, mostly. What exact type of senior position would this be, OP?
The Delivery Centers have very limited upward mobility. If you're fine with the salary and the different culture, then go for it.
Some re-framing may be in order... It's a Senior Solution Engineer position, which doesn't necessarily equate to a senior position. The goal is to make a move to be closer to aging parents.
Thanks; that's good insight. Salary is good, especially considering a lower cost of living. I'm not unhappy where I am. In fact, prospects are good both for upward mobility and doing interesting work. On the other hand, family... So, it sounds kind of like what I expected to hear.
