Exec conference thoughts so far?
AlixPartners I am expecting an offer for VP in financial crime/compliance and risk. I need to give them my compensation expectation. Currently working in Bank with 7+ YOE including 6 yrs in Big4 non-MBA (Masters in Finance). What is the total comp (base+bonus) that I can ask for? What is the general sign on bonus? Thanks in advance
PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

Oof, are you approaching 34? If you have a new kid, is your partner prepared for you to go through vigorous screening process, then 5 (if didn't change) months in Quantico. Then, send off to where the agency has the opening? Could be middle of desert or Alaska since new recruits have virtually zero say. Plus, you'll start with around 70k plus small CoL adjustment. Assuming, you'll be in for 20 years, your salary will cap at 120k ish.

What city would you be processing out of? Each office has its own culture and generally you can’t go back to where you process from. They only had 2 SA classes last year and are really low on new agents because of this. My sister made it through all the phases in 3 months and then 6 months of background (they really want financial people). Most agents I know have families, but they also have VERY understanding partners for the first few years until you build seniority and time off. Quantico is hard because you may not see your kid during it (during Covid the base has been on lockdown and no one can leave). For FoA it also depends on what office you want. DC is ALWAYS in need of people. The smaller field offices are harder to get into than the divisions (LA, NY, Miami, and DC). Also some offices have more FOAs than others which makes them easier to get into.
