What are the best exit opps in terms of total comp in the Chicago area? Most great offers I see on here are for the SF/NYC areas. For reference I have a few years experience at ACN, a tech master’s degree, and will be joining a T2 strategy consulting firm (think S&, ATK, EYP), but don’t plan on staying in consulting long term. I’m honestly open to anything, but do have an interest in VC and FinTech. TIA!
Does anyone know what the base salary increase is going from Analyst to AVP at Barclays in the UK is? Front office trading role
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
I hate that “this needs more diversity” is code for add more black people...🤦🏾♀️ 😥when will people realize that diversity is not just black and white!
Applying for jobs and seeing that depression and anxiety is listed as a disability. I’ve been diagnosed for depression/anxiety for 5 years, I take pills and it is not a significant stopper in my life. Should I be marking that I do have a disability? What are the pros/cons from a hiring perspective (I know they say it doesn’t matter but I don’t trust people)
What amount of stock shares would be normal for a senior product manager position at Amazon? 100k vested over 4 yrs?
Just received an internship offer for Oliver Wyman in Management Consulting. Curious, what is the culture like in the southern offices (Atlanta, Dallas ,Houston)? Also, I come from a First Gen. Low Income background and so any tips on how to prep for the experience would be appreciated (networking, hard skills, courses, attire etc). Thank you in advance for your responses!
Confession - I don't want to go back to office. I'm happy working from home and find no solid reason in stepping back. I hope the flexi work culture allows permanent WFH - I don't have a "good enough" reason, but I don't want to go (isn't this good enough?) It's been 1.5 years now, too comfortable to step out from my PJs to jeans.
Rate your firm on its LGBT culture and support for LGBT professionals. Is it YAAAAAAAASSSS or boooooooo?
Anyone in m and a tax at DT - can you share your experience culture teams leadership etc?
Can anyone share insight into the KPMG Houston office (or in general)? Culture, your experience, etc
Does anyone here work at Cohn Reznick? How is the culture? How is the promotion track? I’ve been through 2 busy seasons as a senior so far. How likely is it I would make manager after 1 year coming from a different firm?
I am still learning and my sr manager is really making me feel stupid. And maybe its just my firms culture but I am on a new engagement and have no senior above me to guide me, the work stream is just me and my senior manager. She had asked me a question about the engagement as to why we are doing something and she got mad because this was the second time she was telling me. I know she is really upset with me but this is all new and I have no one to go to for regular questions. I feel so dumb

Curious what everyone’s caseloads look like in their district if you are a resource room teacher. Do you have 504’s and IEP’s on your caseload?

JD/LLMs from top two tax schools (NYU, Georgetown Law), how much were you offered for a tax associate position? With what firm? I’m confident that I will get an offer soon and would appreciate any insight on salary.
I could use some guidance on how to transition out of firm life into a government role. Prior to law: four years working for a state and a city, and four years before that worked at a consulting agency strictly serving government agencies and cities/counties. You’d think this would parlay well into the government roles I am applying for, but so far no dice. I’m entering my fourth year practicing as a lawyer. I love admin law, have some litigation and some transaction work as a lawyer. Thanks!
Looking for a NYC/NJ non profit to be on the board for. Interests include healthcare, education and supporting female entrepreneurs. Though I’d see if anyone has any advice on finding this role
Industry fish: has anyone successfully relocated to a city from your assigned home office/headquarter?
Need opinions: lender services vs a lower MM M&A IB (deal value 60m to 200m/ebitda generally up to 25m) role. I’ve been wanting to pivot to finance for a while now but not sure if going the LMM route sets me up better than just staying in TAS and waiting for a role in ABS/private credit. Short term comp is less of a concern for me since I’m thinking of this LMM IB as a stepping stone move.
How big / mature are IT Strategy practices at MBB? How does it differ from IT Strategy at big 4?
My project has nobody full time on it ( allocated under 25 hours) yet everyone is doing full time work and tight deadline. Is this normal? The client is also not responsive

Booked a 48 hr trip to Orlando cause it was cheap ($120 round trip from dc!) just to get some warmth. Anything I must do? Staying at the ritz. Traveling alone. 32m single.
What do I say if a recruiter is refusing to tell me the salary budget for the role I'm interviewing for? They keep asking me for a number, but I keep asking what they value the role at and what their budget is, which they aren't willing to disclose until I give a number. 🤷🏻 What do I do??
I’m at the end of my rope. My AMD went on maternity leave a month ago and at this point, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to get a temp replacement. I’m expected to work up and put together plans for 2022 almost all on my own while taking time to train new AMPs and MPs. My director expects me to delegate to them when they have little to no background. I know I should probably start looking elsewhere but I feel like with the Great Resignation, it’s going to be the same anywhere else.
What are examples of good "certs" or trainings to acquire while on the bench for non-tech consultants?
Starting to learn more about FIRE and getting really excited about it. When they say save 50% of monthly income, is that including future savings like 401k and HSA? How do you save 50% when living in a HCOL city? My rent alone eats up like 35%. I also have student loans and car loans (which I got before learning about FIRE and finances). Thanks for all the insights!
Thoughts on suit + no tie for interviews?
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
What’s your go-to Slack message for bugging an exec for the 5th time about something they’re a blocker on?
I run Butchershop® Global from San Francisco, Guadalajara, LA, NY, and Vienna. Over the last 13 years, we've created a pretty incredible culture and had our best years of growth during the pandemic. I'm here to help answer any questions about running an agency business or swap career advice.
How to get the attention of my boss for a promotion when he's working from a different state and I'm in NYC? All communications are through skype, phone etc.
When you track your travel expenses, do you include booked (and paid) travel for NEXT year as a current year expense or a next-year expense? I have separate excel workbooks for 2021 and 2022 but am curious what the norm is!
Does anyone have recommendations on resume writers? I am getting very few interviews and starting to feel pretty discouraged. Any other advice or recommendations are welcome.
