Loudon and Fairfax are both really good school systems. Very family friendly. Love the Loudon farmers market on Saturdays and brambleton has one too. It’s far-ish away from dc if that matters to you. But good area to bring up your family. Lots of tech focused Millennials and GenZ folks, tons of diversity.
Pros: it's close to a major metropolitan area and everything it relatively accessible, and sometime walk-able depending on where you look
Cons: entitled area, traffic, taxes, etc.
Cons: heat and humidity in the summer. Also, crowds often make it hard to get admission to events large and small…you need to plan and cannot be spontaneous. Crowds on bike trails. Traffic means bike trails are only option because roads and drivers unsafe. Going into DC is difficult for finding parking. Pro: good ethnic restaurants in NoVA, at a better price point and more authentic than DC. Things in DC tend to be inauthentic and superficial, and restaurants often increase pricing because of fancy surroundings and vibe.
Ashburn (Loudoun in general) is expensive but still a great place to live
