Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse here👋). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.

Just got a freelance gig for $1250 for 2 shoot days, but they’re asking for hourly rate for prep days. Not sure what rate to give them & if I should base it on a 10 or 12 hr hourly rate. What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. Managers schedule meeting after office hours and expects us to be available always.

Sorry to say this but I have seen only Indians who work extra hours. What's even funny is that the upper management laugh at foreigners who work exactly 8hours.

Hey folks. Question for the majority of us still under the big 3 holding co’s...are raises a thing anymore? I’ve been at my (smaller) agency almost 5yrs and got one raise (a nice $12k bump) during that time—is that sufficient? Is one increase in that span normal? I also recognize being somewhere 5 years is rare these days. The honeymoon period at any agency seems to be 2.5—3yrs before bolting. Not complaining, just asking.
