Those who do financial modeling at work: for case study in interviews, is it bad practice to submit a model based on a premade template, assuming that I understand all formulas and incorporate my own reasonable assumptions? For reference, I don’t work with fundamental modeling (quant background) so I needed to get a template to teach myself. TIA

I have an interview for a technical writer position in the chemistry field. Coming from a lab based chemistry role I'm use to getting technical questions about my lab experience. With this role I'm interviewing for being office based, I'm not sure what questions they may ask. What interview questions can I expect for a technical writing position?

I have 5 YOE in Analytics... always thought I wanted to be a DS, but every job (even the junior ones) required experience in ML development. Though I am part of the ML project, I'm not the person develop the model. And I have a hard time when the interviewer ask about how I develop the model and what hyperparameters I tuned. I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.

I am having 8.7 YOE JAVA Backend developer and having offer from Nagarro now.
So I wanted to know about the BGV process, like what docs they ask like docs from all of the past employers ?
And do they ask after joining or before joining ?
As I dont have exp letter from my 1st company (with 1.6 yoe) which was a small startup.
It was a absconding case so couldnt get any exp letter but I do have payslips, bank statements, appointment letter & last appraisal letter from that company.

Just realized I hadn’t had an in-person interview since 2019. I’ve done multiple zoom interviews and was onboarded remote in 2020. About to see a real person today! Wish me luck.

Interviewing for a product designer IC job at Meta, I was told by the recruiters that final panel would be 2 ICs and 1 manager. My schedule has 3 managers, no ICs and no other functions. I asked - told it was just due to scheduling constraints. I think managers just naturally have more experience and more stringent standards (generally). Is this worth asking to set up the more standard panel for me even if it takes longer to schedule? Or is this a non-issue? Just want an equitable experience

Who knew interviews are a whole different process on its own. Very exhausting, answering lots of questions and thinking. I’m completely done with 2022 interviews. These interviews are just mhmmmm.

What is work-life balance like in big tech legal? I’m currently in house at a large multinational; I like my job and I get paid fine, with a very good WLB (40-45 hrs). I want to look into FAANG-type opportunities as they would mean a huge pay bump, and I think I’m qualified, but I have no idea about the hours, and I don’t want to substantially give up WLB, as that’s why I left BigLaw. I don’t want to be miserable again. I know Amazon is poorly reputed for lawyer WLB… what about other places?

Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work. Every time I have talked to a partner/senior manager I was told I don’t have the skill set they’re looking for, but I don’t know how to build up from there. I’m up for a promotion at work and I have no idea how much to ask for since it’s not a standard position. Currently I’m a team lead and manage about 8 technicians, my promotion will be to a regional service delivery manager, and I will be managing over 30 in 3 locations. I went from a tier 1 engineer in managed servers to team lead with about a 10k increase in salary.I’m thinking about a 15k increase this time from 65k to 80k. Just started a new job less than a month ago in the tech sector. It was the industry I was fixated on when leaving for. However I realise that I don't think I can cope with the fast paced, lack of wlb, with no support - it's really impacting my mental health already....

I try to hide it from my boyfriend, but its impact is flowing into my personal life.

My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar.
