What a fascinating conversation that doesn’t answer the OP’s original prompt. C’mon guys. :p
Yeah if you work at MBB it is all pretty consistent. If not, you will not he hired laterally as a P, so I wouldn’t worry about it
I know a lateral P
I knew aDeloitte SM and a Strategy& Director that joined MBB as a Principal and AP respectively. So I wouldn’t say it’s impossible @BCG1 and BCG2
Yeah, we hire plenty of lateral Ps who have prior non-MBB consulting experience... many have a few years in industry in between though
I mean I am a P and I would not say we hire many laterals. There has to be a specific skill / relationship need - otherwise hiring too many messes up the whole idea of a pyramid
I know of at least 5 people in the past 2 years who have made lateral moves to BCG, 2 to Bain, and 3 to McKinsey. 1 at each firm was Partner level. It happens.
Total comp for P1 is 325-400. P3 is 400-525. That’s base, bonus, and retirement for an average/ontrack up to to top performer. And healthcare is free for the fam
Thank you Bcg5
