What are your top 3 favorite pharma directors? I haven’t shot pharma in a while and don’t have extensive experience in it. NY based directors a nice plus but not a must. Forget COVID, just trying to refresh my memory and look at reels. I’m based in NYC, if that matters. Budget is decent. Thanks!

Does the size of the deals you work on impact your exit opps? I'm considering a role at an MM firm (non-PA firm) and they mentioned the deals are usually in the $200M area of size, which I realize is smaller than big 4 deals

I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how I should advocate for myself?

I’m a junior associate at a regional firm interviewing for a few big law firm positions this week. How much should I worry about the fact that I didn’t go to a T14 school (I graduated top 5% in a school ranked ~75) and didn’t start out in big law? Am I doomed?

Hi, just got an offer from A&M as D (Performance Improvement). The base from Glassdoor is accurate (US as a benchmark). Bonus is much higher than my current. Anyway the base seems very low compared to S& SA in US.
1) is it true that the base is that low compared to junior-mid level at S&?
2) i am based in Asia, any different rate compared to other region at A&M?
3) the TC can be 3x that what I can get currently, but i can make partner in few years at PwC. Do you think A&M should be considered?

I have a seriously hard time working all day. I went straight through, so part of it is probably just that I've never worked in an office before, but I have the hardest time getting in all my hours. Anyone else deal with that fatigue? Or figured out how to conquer it?

I wish I could just work all day but it's not coming naturally to me. I walk, I take breaks.... but it's hard

Looking for feedback from others with spouses/partners who aren’t in law. My partner is going to renegotiate their compensation at the end of the year. He is a sales and operations director at a local business in Houston. He currently makes $80K + the opportunity for up to $9,600 in bonus throughout the year + 3% 401(k) match ($92,000 total comp). Partner keeps telling me (2nd year) that I need to get better at using staff like paralegals to reduce client costs.....but doesn't realize that the only paralegal allocated to my group has been with the firm for 30 years and bills 1.5x higher than me.

Tips for becoming more independent as you progress from junior to midlevel? I am starting to be put into the position of just having to handle things including drafting and could use some advice from others.

Any tips on leaving a firm “correctly”? Was about to go “of counsel” with my firm of 6 years, but then another firm whose partners I really respect (and personally like) offered me a partnership position. I predict my current bosses will *flip* (cut off file access immediately, try to beat me to calling my clients, etc.), so how do I set myself up for a successful transition?

Finally just took a day to work from home. My office never instituted a hybrid policy, kept everyone in office full time, and now our county hospital beds are full. One thing I didn't realize was the toll anxiety and constant tension was taking on me. We all need to be a bit kinder to ourselves because this profession isn't going to do it for us.

I seem to go through this cycle where I'll try to fix a problem, fix it and then go back to my old ways. I'm trying to fight against it but basically my performance review is coming up and I think it's likely I'm going to be let go because of my failure to meet expectations. Earlier in the year I was going through a rough time and working through it, I have gotten better over the course of the year but I feel it's not enough. I got fired from my last job. I'm so sick of this cycle

Not sure if this has been asked before but what are your billable expectations, what year are you, and what size firm are you at?

I have been lurking on fishbowl for a bit and it seems that my billable expectations at my small firm are too high (1850). I don’t hit them but neither does anyone else including senior associates / partners. Anyways, my boss is using that as an excuse to not give me a raise - so any insight you could provide would be helpful!

I’m at a midsize firm in the Midwest and I’ve noticed that we’ve hired multiple associates who all graduated law school the same year. Some are coming from clerkships, other firms, etc., but they’re all on the same graduation year. This feels like it’s setting up a squeeze down the road for these folks with respect to partnership. Is there something I’m missing or is this something that will cause issues down the road?
