Finally just took a day to work from home. My office never instituted a hybrid policy, kept everyone in office full time, and now our county hospital beds are full. One thing I didn't realize was the toll anxiety and constant tension was taking on me. We all need to be a bit kinder to ourselves because this profession isn't going to do it for us.

I've been working from home the last two days because I was in contact with someone who tested positive. No WFH policy, been in office this whole time. I've found that my anxiety and stress is way down, but also shows me how pointless it is to commute to work when I have no need to be in office. In any event, I planned to start my own practice at the start of next year and this only confirmed to me how much better it is to be sane and at ease than to be a grunt in an office and stressed to hell. Good luck to you, we all need it.

This ... is ... not ... sustainable! I’m the sole earner and have a kid, so “just quit!” during a pandemic is not it - and “setting boundaries” ain’t easy when I’m always reachable by text/zoom/email. I’m fortunate to have a job, but damn. Working From Home = Working Forever From Everywhere. And it sucks.

Teaching a SPED music class this year and the students have finally *mostly* become comfortable in the room and with the instruments + noise. I work with mostly autistic students.

I’m at a midsize firm in the Midwest and I’ve noticed that we’ve hired multiple associates who all graduated law school the same year.
