Currently an AP, but have an offer to join McKinsey as an Expert. From what I understand, these are essentially EMs. It would be a hard pill to swallow and become an EM, which was the level I was at years ago. The role would be approx 85% of base salary now, but bonus would be higher. Still TC would be lower until I make Associate Partner (Senior Expert) at McK; long-term comp is definitely higher at McK. Is it worth the short term pain and lower comp as EM for chance at P at McK?

What is the salary like for a AWS Architect in consulting with 14 years IT experience?

Interviewed for Deloitte S&A Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got a much higher offer for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but need time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.
