Hey y’all! Can we get some introductions going to kick off this bowl? How long have you been a PM? Are u certified? What field are you in (Business, Entertainment, Banking, Engineering, Tech etc)?

I’ll start off. I’ve been a PM for 4 yrs. Not PMP certified. I’m a Business PM in the Finance industry now learning the ropes on Agile process.

What advice do you have for someone who will soon start their first job as a retail manager?

I have heard McKinsey has a bad Work Life Balance, are there any Software Engineer 1 in this bowl who can share the ground realities ?

How many hours a day do you work in general, do you work 12+ hours including commute time.
Also how much work you do here is support and how much is development work, how are the projects that we work on and do you use new tech stack or you use old technologies.

What are the career opportunities and hikes like.

Hypothetical: hiring for a Lead Product Designer position to own direction of a data heavy saas app, would you hire someone that pivoted into UX from marketing and graduated HCI masters recently or someone who had a web designer/dev freelance & UX consulting background?

Just based on those two points.

Can you share what are some questions you're having rn that would affect the decision?

So, I landed a Customer Service Advisor job at Sitel in the UK. But I heard that they fire you without any prior notice or end their campaigns abruptly, leaving us with no job. Can’t be facing the risk of no livelihood, right? Can anyone who worked with Sitel give me the real truth? And does Sitel sponsor Tier 2 Visas as such? I am surely looking for stability, security and growth.

Should I take this role?
Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent to my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t grow my network as much, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

Are there any real estate attorneys who have gotten into the title insurance business? What does that look like? Do you still carry on a private practice on the side?

Do you count internships towards your years of experience? I did 20 months all together interning but not sure if that moves my needle from mid to senior when job hunting.

Do you always need an MBA to get into MBB?

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

If I get laid off, I have a previous colleague that started a cybersecurity company. I would love to get involved on the business side of it. Any pointers on skills that are attractive in this realm for a startup? Would be mostly (if not all) federal defense contracting clients. I’m currently in Deloitte’s cyber risk practice but my background and passion is in accounting and finance, and business operations. Graduated in 2017 so still early career.

What certifications can I earn to increase my market value coming out of college? I’m graduating with a marketing and digital applications co-major and I have 2 HubSpot certs (Digital Advertising and Social Media Marketing) + relevant internships. What do you do to increase the chance of your content going viral?

Iam 5 month pregnant , thinking to get release from project due to health issue and taking maternity leave from april 1st, at this situation can I be in bench for 3 months and go in maternity leave ? Will this affect my job in Accenture? Will the organization allow to be in bench for 3 months? If iam in bench during maternity leave will i get variable pay

I want to show counter offer of 20 lpa to LTI and ask for 20% hike that is 24 lpa. Will LTI give that kind of hike ? Please share your advice on this. and also which company to join.
