If the offices agree and chicago needs someone, they will likely slot you in at your level on the chicago scale. They could ask you to take a bump down the scale a year, but only if they didn’t need someone at your level or they thought you needed extra seasoning with Illinois law, etc. It’s a discussion you should have with your OMS to see if it’s feasible and something the office would be ok with.
Not sure what band you're current office is in, but based on your description, you would bump up to their scale. Questions that will be relevant to moving offices -
Does the office have a need?
How junior are you? Will you require a lot of handholding?
Are you well-liked and getting good reviews at your current office?
How long will it take you to get up to speed? Will you need to take another bar exam? Is it in the same circuit?
