Currently dreading a 6 hr flight with a 20 month old. Other than new toys on a slow drip (wife’s suggestion) and Benadryl/Bourbon (mine/don’t judge), any others?

Remember that babies react to your stress. Maybe save a shot of bourbon for yourselves.

Felt the same way before a flight from EWR>SAN, turned out just fine. Been on plenty of flights where there’s been a crying baby, it never bothers me and I think a lot of people are sympathetic to it. Don’t stress too much and use the friendly advice above.

Think outside-in. You and wife will do great with your own kid. The best advice given to me was to treat those seated around you. Drinks, movies and earplugs.

Just take a deep breath and roll with it. It's usually fine.

If the little one is getting fussy, just make sure you’re both putting forth the necessary effort. People will generally look past the crying or anything else if they see that you’re trying

Drink and snacks for ascent and descent. Little ears don’t deal well with the pressure changes. Get up and walk from time to time - it’s a mini adventure.

Can you get the bulkhead? Extra space helps

Test Benadryl on kid before flight. 5-10% of kids will become excited instead of sleepy with benadryl.

Keep the bink in... it helps with the ear pressure!

We took our 12mo to Australia. He crawled around, interacted with people, slept, watched videos. Let them play and try to enjoy the flight so it's just another day for them

My wife is a pharmacist. She said Benadryl typically makes children under the age of 5 hyper. Consider yourself warned.

Read books about being on an airplane. “Practice” at home to get them somewhat used to it. Get to airport early so you aren’t stressed before getting on plane

Get those baby noise cancellation headphones. @d4 do they make baby xanax?

20 months... are they watching any tv yet? iPad

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

I was married for 3 years & she left 1 day bc she realized that she was no longer “happy”. A week later, I caught her in a parking lot w/ her coworker & finalized the divorce. In my mind she was perfect in every way except for the infidelity. After 8 months of therapy and on and off dating, I got into a new relationship but I became commitment phobic & see flaws when I compare my ex to my new gf. 1yr has passed now and I still feel like I’m settling and not mad in love. Wwyd? 2y since divorce.

I’m leaving for a vacation and packing my bags. This little guy won’t leave my side knowing I’m packing a suitcase. It’s breaking my heart.

So recently my SO has been accusing me of being in control of when we are intimate (sex and cuddling). She says that every time she wants to I say no - and whenever I want to - she says yes. So it's by default doing whatever I want when I want. It's a gross exaggeration of what's happening - but does anyone ever deal with something like this? How do you say no to something like that - without your partner thinking you're just looking out for yourself or you're controlling?

Need help building an electric schedule for a production schedule with a Gantt chart style view (sort of)

Currently have an excel list with resource (production line), start date and time, and then also the name of the item being produced.

Any ideas how to tackle this??

I’m thinking a stacked bar chart with the vertical categories to be my resources and horizontal the date/time and then each individual bar to be the name of the item being produced.
