I have 4 premium cards 🤦♂️ 1st year is usually worth it because of sign up bonus but 2nd year for most cards is debateable. Depends if you take advantage of the benefits and if you actually use it for points/redemption.
I was going to cancel my Amex Platinum my second year but they offered to credit my annual fee.
Thanks for the clarification! Pays to get a project in NYC...
Depends, do you get value from all the Amex credits / lounge access?
It literally just comes down to do you value delta/Amex lounges. If so keep it and add gold. If not gold plus CSR is not bad. Or chase trifecta.
I have the CSR + AMEX Plat - I’m based out of DFW and usually travel to cities with Centurion lounges.
I definitely can say I enjoy a ‘preflight’ drink (or 6), and much rather go to the Centurion lounge than other ones.
I’m actually tempted to add a Bonvoy card as well to maximize hotel points (even though had a basic Hyatt card from a while back).
@PwC1: to be honest - haven’t really, but I should. I have accumulated cards over the past few years but haven’t been good about closing them or downgrading them.
I bank with chase, so kind of have some loyalty and affiliation to them, but have used my AMEX at least twice per trip (and my team is starting to emulate my return travel schedule so that we can enjoy he lounge).
Contrarian here - seems like excessive annual fees.
