Currently interviewing at Bain. I’m a senior Associate at PwC and they want me to come on as an AC. Is it typical to take the step down in terms of title and salary when moving to MBB?

Title - Yes, almost always. Especially at junior / close to entry levels.

Salary - No, there’s abso no reason whatsoever to take a pay cut.

All the best 👊

likehelpful

OP - seems like we’re having a slightly unnecessary debate here - you mentioned you’re currently SA - what’s you current line of service..?

No. Don’t let them tell you it is. I had 4 staff go that way and get a bump in title.

likefunny

Also, assuming you're DS, one was SA>C and one was SM>SM, which are definitely not bumps

Def seems to be common practice for B4–> Mbb

like

Depends on geo as well. The pay diff is humongous in certain countries that you can justify dropping a level and still have a 30% bump.

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? I’m just trying to understand income potential.

At the end of the interview, the person told me I passed the interview and they were going to talk to the Director who’s a level under them. It’s a yes for them and they’re happy to work with me.

I also sent my references. I don’t know when I can expect an reply. Recruiters from that company aren’t really organised

I woke up today tired.

My work cell was buzzing and then I remembered something.

I forgot to thank the bus driver that dropped me off a few days ago.

I got up and rushed downstairs to find the bus driver.

It was raining outside but I was already running barefoot to the bus stop.

I stood there soaked in my pajamas as the bus approached.

Then, the door opened. The driver got up and shook my hand.

I sat down and started my shift.

I’m the bus driver. Reminder to love and thank yourself.

Is bank interest riba?

I have been researching into this these days and there is literature that shares how lending worked in pre-Islamic Arabia. When the time to pay back a loan came, the lender would ask "would you pay or will you increase?" And that increase was usually doubling the loan. Subsequently ever year the loan wasn't paid it was doubled from the previous year.
