What is the best way to structure a discovery call for SaaS sales? e.g. share a deck, only focus on their use case (current state, goals, pain, etc.), share a story, etc. Lastly, how do you go further than surface level, like if they mention they are having issues with xyz, which is usually a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Flaming hot take incoming. I went to school in Ohio. Lived in cincy a few years after graduation. Met amazing people. Saw attractive girls and good looking guys all the time. I’ve sense moved out east and have been severely underwhelmed by the quality of people I’ve encountered in my year here. And I’m very social - I interact with people a lot when I’m out and about. And yet all over social media there are jokes about how Ohio is the worst place to possibly live. I don’t get it

Joined a new company/team recently and haven’t been doing well .. i was a high performer at my previous job but it’s a new industry I joined and my peers are so much better regardless of how hard I work.. (the entire team works 15 hrs/day so there’s only so much more I can do).. how can I get better :(

I have a 20+ year career doing AdTech/BI/Analytics in media agencies. Started as an intern, rose up to director and board member at various agencies.

I switched to tech consulting at SM level early this year for the money but also to see new industries & learn something new. Had to quit the small firm I joined after only 5 months due to chaotic and overbearing leadership. Now I have an offer from Avanade and one from a big media agency on the table.

Should I go back or stay in consulting?

What are your expenses/time horror stories? Has anyone gotten fired in relation to expenses? Compensation withheld?

Do you get informed if the person you interviewed joined the company or not?

How would you feel if many of the candidates you interviewed with positive feedback didn’t join the company?

Do companies measure time wasted interviewing candidates who didn’t join?
