Flaming hot take incoming. I went to school in Ohio. Lived in cincy a few years after graduation. Met amazing people. Saw attractive girls and good looking guys all the time. I’ve sense moved out east and have been severely underwhelmed by the quality of people I’ve encountered in my year here. And I’m very social - I interact with people a lot when I’m out and about. And yet all over social media there are jokes about how Ohio is the worst place to possibly live. I don’t get it

Ohio seems like a great place if your name is Chad or Karen

likefunny

Don’t forget Aiden, Brayden, Kayleigh and Kayden. 🤣

I'm not white. My parents have lived in Cleveland for the past 20 years and, while I think I've only been to Cincy a handful of times so can't really compare it, I've seen a good number of attractive folks in Cleveland just while visiting my folks, not living there. I've also lived in KY, all over the south, and up and down the east coast before settling in DC for the past ~15 years.

I agree with OP that OH (and KY, and all the other non-east coast states I've lived in) has a good number of hot people, and I'd say on a per-capita basis they're at least equivalent to, if not better than, the east coast cities I've lived in with the exception of Charleston, which takes the cake.

lol very hot take. Not to make everyyyything about race but as a minority I can’t imagine being in Ohio matches up with being in NYC for dating

like

^^ D3 exactly. Personally don’t care the race of the person but have noticed a strong decrease of white girls giving me a shot since graduating college 😅

I don’t think that the college Ohio with beer goggles is what most people reference when they speak of Ohio.

likefunny

Ok fine I was drunk a lot in college. But not 100% of the time 😂.

like

There's much less racial diversity in Ohio. OP might be hinting racist undertones.

likefunny

Still can’t tell if D2 is serious lmao

When I moved from San Diego to NYC, was a bit surprised at how much more attractive people in SD are than NYC. Then I traveled all over and just realized San Diego has extremely attractive people.

Have nothing against Ohio, but I do enjoy the memes about Ohio

like

Yes agreed. Everyone in California is hot. Way higher "hot" percentage in SD and LA and elsewhere in Cali. If you want to be around beautiful people all of the time, California is it.

I love California.

So much.

Btw OP I gave you a hard time but I get what you mean about New York. There are a ton of hot people in New York. But they are very interspersed with grizzled gnarly looking people who do NOT focus on their appearance. You have to find the right places where the beautiful people congregate.

Philly...who knows. Not a fan. Next.

like

Midwest?

Midbest.

likeupliftingfunny

I can tell you’re intelligent and probably attractive

like

There are no attractive people in Cincinnati. Period.

Ok, hyperbole, there's probably like 5 or 10.

like

Yeah I was hot for everyone in my high school too. Lots of hot people. Guys and girls. Went to some reunions and the super hot, fit, star athletes who got laid every week in high school had become beer bellied bald blobs.

Tell me you are white without telling me you are white hahaha… sorry OP had to 😉 !

Now in a more serious note, OP just to give you perspective from a latino. Lived in the midwest for about 4 years. Very rough dating pool if I wanted to date a latina… also, dating caucasian women was not as easy. And well I do believe that the East coast has better ratios. And well, Miami is the place haha!

like

Texas ain’t too bad either!

As a Georgian, I empathize with you lol

I confess that the city with the highest density of people I found physically attractive was Charleston, SC. Unconventional take, but the outfits, balayage hair, and boots were 🔥

I’m sure Ohio had its gems too 😀

like

Of course if you have a specific type. It’s like saying you found everyone in Venice beach attractive when the average person there looks like a burning man disciple.

funny

To be fair to OP - Ohio still has ‘MrS’ culture. The girls I know that became full time stay at home moms are basically trophy wives and stay insanely hot. That might skew things a lot.

likesmart

A think a dark secret is that culture is low key everywhere. I hate it. If you know a place where it isn’t though please let me know because I’ll move there!!

I lived in Cincinnati for 20 years. The lie detector has determined the OP is a lie.

likefunny

Middle America is rad

Edit: except for Ohio state. They suck

like

I’m only here for the shameless Ohio plug 🤣👀

like

Be brave

The attractive person per capita ratio in Ohio is overwhelmingly higher than in NYC, Philly, and Boston. But a huge portion of America lives here so I think there’s an huge bias

like

Tell me your white without telling me your white… okay okay I’ll leave.

like

Ohio is not the worst. There’s several places that start with “I”

I grew up in Indiana. Smaller town but my per capita attractiveness take still holds true

East Coast = Beast Coast

It amazes me NYC is less or more considered the heart of western civilization. Everyone’s rude and there is pigeon shit everywhere. Startles me!

Where is "east"?

Philly and NYC. Visit DC and boston frequently for work

If it just depends on the performance, how badly does one need to fu*k up (according to the manager) to end up getting PIPed

Recent exp hire in consulting and would love some input. Pre hire was promised by leadership that the firm was doing lots of interesting strategy work in a niche, cutting edge but rapidly growing field. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
