SAP Sal 11.7 fixed + 1.3 Vpay = 13LPA Airbus Sal 14.3 fixed + 2.7Vpay = 17.5 LPA and 5L joining (should be given back if early exit in 3years) Both companies have other benefits apart from CTC. Can anyone suggest which one to decide? I have some idea on SAP labs but not sure about airbus when it comes to work life balance, career growth, team. thank you and much appreciated

People work for money (and benefits are a version of money) - no one does big law for free. If you're unhappy enough that the money and great parental leave isn't worth it, then absolutely find something else. But it's also ok to just say hey, I'm going to do this job I don't love that's going to give me 6 months off with my new baby and that's worth it. Sometimes I think we want to be inspired or find fulfillment in our jobs especially when we're putting in all these long hours. Maybe look around and see what else is available, but also it's fine to have an end goal (two parental leaves and then find something new) and just do the minimum to get to that.
💯 this.
I’m in a similar situation and decided to stay in my miserable job until we’re done having kids (currently on my second mat leave so I think we are there now!). There are a lot of unknowns about what kind of work I will want once the dust has settled, and I don’t want to make a big choice during a transitional period. Our kids are 2.3 years apart, so it wasn’t that long to tough out.
I also haven’t been on my A game since my first kid was born, and I didn’t want to try establishing myself somewhere new while navigating that plus pregnancy. I plan to job hunt once I go back to work.
Also on a 6 month leave right now and I can’t imagine not having it, but I do really like my job (not biglaw pay at all, but I get to do substantive work for impact litigation and have earned pretty good autonomy over my WLB - which is just to say, there may be a job you like that also has leave)
You could apply to jobs and not take them unless they have a good enough parental leave policy? Depends how unhappy you are too
