When it comes to the digitization of healthcare, how important is it to have tech exp vs. healthcare exp? I understand it’s ideal to have both, but healthcare seems so far behind other industries. Is it better to go into tech for a few years and then go back to healthcare and try to become a change agent?

I’m an ongoing close to full time consultant with one organization and during a conversation on my most current work with the company (all very positive feedback) and my future projection, my boss/founder of the company said to me ‘we have no idea how you will feel after the birth, a million things could happen to you, your health, your baby, your relationship etc. so how can we really commit to you’? It’s so frustrating. I feel like my decision to have a family is fully and directly impacting my career and I can’t do anything about it. It seems very unfair. I mean isn’t that the case for anyone at any point In their lives pregnant or not??? What do you guys think? Is he just being realistic or is this fucked up?

Have you interviewed for a job where you haven’t even spoken to the recruiter? At this company I’ve dealt with the interview scheduler, hiring manager and even a panel for my second interview with the director and another senior manager…but no recruiter.

How have you broke the news to your boss that you’re looking to make a career change and leave the practice? I am the Sr. Paralegal at my firm (7+ years) and work for a solo practitioner in a very busy wage & hour class action practice. We have one other legal assistant and law clerk. I don’t want to burn bridges, but after seeing how he gave the cold shoulder to his paralegal of 10+ years after going on maternity leave and never coming back, I don’t see how I can’t expect the same treatment.

Serious question: Why’d we have to migrate our network logins to FCB Health in addition to our emails? Couldn’t we have just started listing our emails as “@fcbhealth” but logging in as “@FCB”?
Our old emails instantly forward to our current ones, so I don’t see why it couldn’t be the other way.

Hello, I've been a Recruiter for 12 years and my current employer was bought by another Recruiting firm. I don't like the new firms structure and the health benefits are very very expensive.
