Debating on whether to get a 49” monitor or two 27” monitors for my home office setup.

Pros and cons of each? Help me decide.

If the 49" includes software that allows you to treat it as two separate screens(useful when snapping windows around), I'd go with that.

I bought an open box last spring for like $1,200 on Amazon super minor cosmetic mark from the packaging rubbing on screen you can’t see when it’s on. Ordered another for $1,200 brand new ($1,100 open box) from Amazon.

Walmart is back ordered with $1,100 from Microsoft store & extra $210 off Samsung website but you pay shipping if have an EDU. It’s not cheap, but well worth it for work and personal! You can also buy the non 240hz black version for about $899.

Only flaw is need a super heavy stand so getting a stacked vertical by chief brands (see Reddit for more info), but Dell recommended wall mounting both. Make sure you get a good flash drive for the manual software updates too.

Lmao, 49” is bigger than my tv

I’ve had a 49” curved and two 24” and prefer the two simply for screensharing during meetings. It allows you to do something completely different on other screen and keep open chat in case you forget to say something. All other tasks will remain about the same.

I have two 27” and like the setup. I like physically having the two separate screens to share one and not worry about where everything’s positioned, etc. I know with the larger monitors you can set up like multiple screens. I haven’t looked into it as I’m happy with current setup. I just use for work though, not gaming or movies or anything

I have a 34in, wish I had gotten the 49. I really like the ultra wide because I spend a lot of time in excel, and make wrangling and creating large models much easier having it all on one continua screen. I use software to make windows snapping to regions a breeze, and it is less clutter on my desk having one monitor.

Cons to the ultra wide though is screen sharing. Not really the biggest deal, zooms option to share a portion of a window makes it super easy. For teams and skype, you’ll have to just get used to sharing a window instead of the whole desktop.

I have the 49" ultra wide. It's OK for work but I switched to a 43" 4k.

Pros of the 43" is that it isn't some weird aspect ratio when screen sharing and you can use 1/2 the screen to work on bigger docs sort of like portrait mode. And can have side by side like dual portrait mode. Snapping is easy with tools like better snap.

LG DualUp

That looks interesting. Never heard of it

Get a 38 ultrawide!

2 - 32 inch monitors with 2k or 4k based on budget

I am product designer with a fair amount of experience (6yrs).

Recently was interviewed for a Sr. role in Booking but unfortunately, the team finds me better suited as a core individual contributor.

I am also in the advanced stages of some lead designer positions in other companies.

However, I am really interested in joining the team at Booking, especially because of the design culture.

What should be my reasons to accept or not accept the offer from booking?
