Did anyone buy the Target gift card worth 200$ and 500$ for 14.99$ couple of days back when they had a system glitch.
I wonder if a customer can sue them considering they issued that and then came back and deactivated those gift cards after issuing them without customer’s consent. Any thoughts!?

Sure, you can technically sue anyone. But there's about a 0% chance it would go anywhere except wasting time and money. You can't afford the quality of lawyers Target can. And it's a pretty straightforward case of a bad faith purchase that they can explain away as a temporary glitch and you exploited an obvious error. You'd spend more on legal fees than it's worth.

Also, just really stupid in general to sue for something like that. Do people still try? Yes. Does that make them stupid? Also yes.

They also don't need your consent to deactivate any gift cards.

Why would you— never mind.

Yes. You can. DM me and Venmo your initial consultation fees of $299.99 and we can discuss the matter over Zoom.

Seems like a pretty lame thing to “sue” someone over…

lol a quick Google would tell you the chances of this succeeding, which are 0

Every retailer has fine print that enables them to claw back any purchase made as a result of a glitch. This is rather common in the airline industry and on the rare occasion they'll honor the fare, but most instances will be cancelled.

Does anyone have advice about interviewing somewhere with bad Yelp/google reviews? Is it OK to ask about it in an interview? Does any law office, for the most part, have “good” reviews, especially family law? The reviews I read on lots of law office pages are usually people who are accusing the firm of over-billing, not doing enough work or losing/obtaining an unfavorable outcome. How much attention should one pay to this when looking for a new firm at which to work?

About to get about $10k from freelance. I have a full time job so my bills are already covered. Unsure how to split the $10k - got about $3k on credit cards to pay off, but no other debt. Should I throw the rest into savings? Buy some more stock (have a few $100 invested already)? Could do a bit of each of course but as I split it up it feels like less and less and like I'm not going to see substantial growth either way.

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what you make as a typical banquet/events manager for salary or per hour? I’ve worked for Marriott/Bonvoy at the Ritz and for the Curio Collection with Hilton as a bartender/server/banquets captain. Now I’m working for a privately owned hotel and as a manager role in Banquets/Events. Because of pandemic times, what is everyone else making?
