Do any of your schools have was to honor/memorialize students who you have lost to violence or accidents or disease?

Other than bringing in extra counselors, my district doesn't do anything. It is sad, we lost a 1st grader 2 weeks before school laat year. She was shot by a stray bullet while she waited with her dad in the car for her mom to get off work.

We lost a high school student to violent crime and they memorialized his locker by putting personal item that best represented him in there and replaced the door with plexiglass. Several years ago, we lost another kiddo and her brother shortly after. We have a kids track meet and fun run as a memorial to them. Granted, we live in a small rural area so we, fortunately, do not see as much violence as a larger urban school might. It’s still hits like a ton of bricks and takes an eternity to get over
