We have counseling today if needed, but all of our details were coming from an AP, not the principal
The Principal didn't communicate directly????
I am sorry to hear that. Maybe speaking to your class regarding certain feelings such as safety, bullying, trauma and other components to better understand the students on your community. Based on what they say speak how to honor their fellow classmates and other options to reduce whatever emotion they are feeling. Keep strong.
Omg ... so sorry to hear this . Kids are already stressed about the Corona Virus and now this . Band together, do SEL activities .
Human being before human doing. Emotional needs first. Counselors available. Conduct a talking circle for classes to provide a safe space where kids can express themselves and their emotions and be acknowledged.
Wow! That is heartbreaking. I am so sorry to hear that you and your students are dealing with that. I hope as a school you all can find a great way to honor those lives. Stay strong.
