When the labor market is an employer market it does but much less so when it is a seeker market. I didn't go to a top tier school and have had very little trouble throughout my career getting opportunities.

I’m very jealous that that’s your experience of the job market. However, I could be getting rejected for reasons other than the college I went to anyway
In accounting, no it does not matter much. There are some “feeder schools” that have better placement rates for students before they even graduate. However, once you’re in the job market post-grad, hiring managers aren’t necessarily looking at the school you graduated from.
These days where companies have the upper hand in choices, yes school does matter. There are more applicants than jobs, so every bit helps and a top tier school name doesn't necessarily mean a better candidate, but it will get you in the door quicker.

I suppose employers can be more picky at the moment can’t they?
College name, ranking, and the respect for its program matters.
At the point where you’ve been working for 10+ years I don’t think so unless they notice you’ve gone to the same school as them then maybe there’s a bias to at least interview.
