If you don’t plan on coming back, it doesn’t matter. Might be best to see what your next employer prefers as your start date and negotiate (strong arm) HR into letting you choose when you leave.
When I left PwC, I went to another firm and my intended 2 week notice abruptly became “youre off the audit and out on Friday”. I stayed up till 2am finishing as much work as possible so that my team wasn’t impacted - no reward. Put yourself first.
That AND if you do have work, consider whether or not it’s worth to give 100%
Give the bare minimum required and process your transition
I usually do 2 weeks. It’s a small world and you never know who you may run into again in the future. But I’d take it easy - basically wrap up what I have on hands.
But the thing is I’ll probs never work with my coach or deployment consultants ever again haha
If you leave with one day notice then you’ll still get paid out pto and next pay check right?
If you’re in California, yes. It varies by state.
I’ve done 2 weeks because that is kinda standard here. I usually just try to finish my work, but I don’t work crazy hours. I think it’s just good to try not to burn bridges, because you never know if you’ll cross paths with those people again (outside of public).
But what if you don’t have any work left to do for the next 2 weeks? I’ll probably be let go early
