I don’t know, but we’re starting to get asked to do pause screen ads with them now and I feel like media and tech is leading our clients on a death march.
Like, yea, let’s invite people to hate your brand in a whole new space they didn’t know they could be annoyed in.
Rising Star
They’re pretty great for clients because they essentially give print a click-thru metric
I’ve always wondered this myself. A url or a QR code has alway felt like a media after thought to me. Every one I’ve ever met does the same thing when they want to know more about something. They google it. Now I guess they ChatGPT it.
I’ve always looked at our jobs as just that, do something interesting enough that people remember to google your brand the next time they’re shopping for shoes, a phone, a Christmas tree, etc
yes they do as many people feel threatened because of scams... my friend and i send each other so many referral links, may i add uploaded from our own profile from that site, we both benefit.
They work if what makes people take action is interesting. Otherwise, no.
Pre-covid, no. Post-covid, possibly. QR code resurgence because no sharing menus caused all the generations to adopt QR scanning which had never caught on previously. So at least people know how to use them, but of course depends on the CTA and value exchange.
I’m old (56) and I’m all about a QR code now and I was anti a few years ago. I’ll snap a QR code because I don’t have to remember what it was that I was trying to look up, remember, I’m old. During Covid I got used to them on menus.
covid made it a thing + need strong call to action
