Personally i would not accept. I don't think its a good idea to accept the friend request of anyone who has that kind of power over you. You need space.
Absolutely not will assist in doxing.
Don’t do it. Think twice before letting managers follow you on Facebook. They're not there to cheer you on or offer support—they're watching. The moment you post something they disagree with, it could lead to consequences or even land you on a Performance Improvement Plan or termination. A colleague is just that - a colleague, not your friend.
A.I.
From boss standpoint, I'd say that I don't care if someone accepts my connection request or not
Honestly, I wouldn't. If boss needs to reach you, they can do so through your work email. There's no reason for them to be a part of your personal life, and it could end up working against you. It's a hard NO for me.
Don’t.Do.It.
. You are in no obligation to accept your boss’ request, don’t feel guilty .DELETE that request and move on. Peace!
Don’t do it, it’s a personal thing social media
Only after I’ve left the job. I’m far more reserved in the office and in the current political climate less is more.
Hell to the no. There needs to be hard barriers between outside work boss/subordinate relationships.
That is why we have a public account and a private account
That's what second accounts are for besides side pieces in mexico.
Nope. I keep work contacts off of my social media accounts. Not that I post anything controversial that might result in a conflict with my employer anyway, but as a rule, I prefer the separation between work and personal life.
Go with your gut.
LinkedIn, sure, no brainer.
Outside of that, I would tread carefully.
Besides, part of their job as a leader is to learn about you and there should be no need for SoMe to do that.
No definitely not.. I tend not to share any social media with any one at work. This day and age alot of companies have their own social media platform like a group in teams or SharePoint and that is suitable for work social media but your personal life should be just that.
Never! That's an all-access pass into your personal life.
Y'all better give your sm to employers to ensure you're not going to get away with woke lefty celebrations of murder
My manager was on the same peer level as I was when I started before she was promoted to my Creative Director. We’re still friends on socials and send each other memes and reels on Instagram. As for the owner of our company, I only am connected with her on LinkedIn.
FB ok because i have family members too so i am cautious of what I post. IG no it’s more private for me. Just pretend not seeing the request
NO - its a way to see what you are up to and until you are REAL friends Id advise against it.
I would keep my distance, even on the LinkedIn platform because I do not want managers seeing my submissions, not because they would be offensive, but because they could manipulate or misconstrue them and potentially use them against me as a form of retribution. They already interact with me plenty in the workplace without dealing with more of the same outside of it.
You are NOT friends. I cannot stress this enough. Been there, tried that, got the t-shirt.
In the words of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Don't Trust Anybody! Especially in the workplace.
Never friend your boss or supervisor on any social media. It’s a bad practice. Keep your circle small and be very protective of your private life. Anything you post whether positive or negative can be used against you if it conflicts with corporate or government standards. There are examples of this everywhere.
Every request I receive from people I work with...gets ignored with zero apologies or acknowledgement. I want my personal life to stay personal. I beg you to do the same!
100% no
