Do you actively manage your career, or trust that good work will get noticed? I used to trust the system — now I’m more intentional.

I had a manager who had a pretty cynical sense of humor, and he once said something I never forgot. He mentioned that if you do something great, and no one notices, you might as well have not done it. He'd stress that you have to advertise your wins, and you can't just assume that people will notice the good work you're doing. That may be exaggerated, but he was mostly correct.

I agree with Senior Analyst 1. I don't trust anyone to look out for me but me. I definitely manage my career very actively.

I haven't been managing my career very well the last few years. I want to change that in 2026.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.
