I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.
Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

I don’t think it’s the right data point to look at whether you earn more or less than your parents. Unless you are super young, and you are comparing it right now. When my parents were the same age as me, houses were more affordable healthcare was more affordable sending their kids to college was more affordable as a percentage of their income.
More by multiples, but mainly because FGLI
I earn less right now. My parents have a pretty successful business, but I want to try out different jobs before I decide if I want to pursue their business as well.
Currently, I earn more than my parents because I live in a country where my money is worth more. I know that in a few years, I will make way more than they, which will also translate into a higher salary. Do you make more? Is this something essential for you? I have never considered that before.
My household income is about 6x what my parents household income was when I was a kid in the 90s and 2000s… but in the year 2025, that doesn’t buy me much better of a lifestyle.
Far less, and I have a decent salary. My mom went to law school to join my grandfather in his very well-established practice and has been making great money from day one. I probably should have gone that route as well, but I saw how hard both of them worked when I was younger and decided I wanted nothing to do with it. Highly doubt I'll ever make more than her.
There have been times in my career where I did earn more than my father. However, things have changed a little and I have backslid my salary. I am hoping to climb back up soon. I’ve been earning more than my mother since I was like 22. She still earns like under $40,000 a year.
My folks never made more than $75k combined. They also paid $17k for my childhood home in 1971.
I first beat that number 25 years ago.
Orders of magnitude less. I’m a senior accountant ($95ish total comp) and my dad is a high level executive in pharmaceuticals ($360k+). I doubt I’ll ever make what he makes adjusted for inflation.
