found a role i’m really interested in and came across a post about it from hiring manager with a “reach out if you’re interested”. I’ve got a few connections to the company - is it better to try to go through someone I’m connected with in a different department and try to get referred, or just jump on the hiring manager’s post and reach out to them cold?

I moved to the Netherlands 3 months ago on a spouse visa. Was working with EY-P earlier. I have been applying to jobs and giving interviews but for some reason things are not working out. I get a different reason everytime (after going through the whole process). This has never happened earlier in life and now I don't know what else to do. I have worked as a strategy consultant (& a researcher). Should I change lines? Where else can I try?

Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner? I’m afraid of settling at a lower price than what they can do at the top end of the range! Do I anchor by asking for an outrageous figure or let them offer a salary figure first?

Is it wrong that I’m just not into PE/VC? It seems to be the most desirable exit for most people that I work with. Hey all, started my role as a recruiter at an agency recently and had my first placement! It was great until the candidate wants to renegotiate the base and benefits after the current company counter-offered when the candidate no longer sees the future. Any tips on what to say to bring back to focus? The current role is a Sr. Acct Receivable (less than 2yr) and going into collections specialist at a global law firm.

Cold applied for an awesome role, had an interview with hiring manager, recruiter, and given a pretty hefty assignment that I’m really proud of nailing. They followed up with an email asking for 4-5 days that I am available for a full day of interviews. Gave them 4-5 days, started planning for how I’d get those days off work during insane times at current job, and now not a single word from them to confirm a date. Been over a week now. Sad. Pretty jaded. What can I do? Already followed up

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...
