I probably shouldn't, but I am always happy when my manager is out of the office. I feel like I can just do what needs to be done without the risk of being second-guessed.
Me too. I also feel like sometimes mine is micro-managy so it feels nice to be able to put my head down and just get work done without being pinged constantly and work at my preferred pace
Indifferent. They usually aren’t out for very long so it is kind of just business as normal for me at least. Also I don't really love or hate my manager, so that contributes to the lack of feelings. I will say though, they took a week and half off last year, and we struggled with the workload a lot.
Yeah I get it- usually when my manager takes few days off feels like a relief for me, but anything more than a week would make me feel overwhelmed
I love it - no one breathing down your back - plus proof you can do your boss’s job

I love reading everyone's responses because it's so clear what kind of managers you have by how you respond to this question haha. I like when my supervisor takes PTO because I don't feel someoen watching my everyone move. But I wonder what my team would say about me leaving haha!
I think it probably depends on the personality of the employee too (not just managers). But I guess I would hope that my team would feel pretty neutral about it, not way too excited nor way too stressed. I try to leave behind reasonable notes/get things wrapped up before I take off. But I also am pretty good at logging off when I'm on PTO so Idk if that stresses them out too much
No because it always means a long list of unrealistic deadlines.
Constantly checking in while they’re on PTO? Wow that’s a lot
Neither. I feel happy for her. Lol, we don’t interact or overlap that much so I’m not affected by her absence or presence
Assuming i know (not always) - neutral
