Do you find dogs or cats more challenging to work with? Any tips for working with dogs because I'm 1000% a cat person.

I can relate to being a cat person, but I actually prefer working with dogs. They tend to be more responsive and easier to train. With that said, I think it's important to be patient, consistent, and positive when working with any animal. My best advice is to keep it fun, reward good behavior, and make sure to provide plenty of praise.

Dogs are 100% easier to work with for me. You just have to learn some commands and understand that they are excitable, social creatures. If you learn how to work with them instead of against them then you will be more likely to succeed! Treats and commands are your best friends!

I'm more of a dog person. Cats are hard to read and they do what they want. Dogs are much easier to calm down

I need help. I think I’m being underpaid at my job I’ve been at for 3 1/2 years. I’m a full time receptionist for a veterinary hospital but I also manage the reception area (I answer all questions and if someone makes a mistake I’m the one the fix it) and am an in house trained veterinary assistant but can do a techs job (unlicensed) and I do help the technicians out anytime they need and I’m only getting paid $13 an hour while a crew member at arbys gets paid $15 . What should I do ?

I’ve noticed a pattern of vets in my area not reporting animal hoarding, even though it’s required by the state. Should I speak up?

Unpopular opinion: as a vet, I can assure animals can be as mean as human beings, they just can't speak up for you to know. And they also have the power to dislike you.

Hello everyone! So my dream job is to work at a veterinary office and I wasn’t able to go to college for it due to my financial issues and I still have that issue. I wanna get my foot in the door of any vet office I live in Maryland and I will start out as anything I just don’t know where to start. I have lots of experience with customer service and I love love love pets! I have Pets of my own and they are my world.

If you're being told "take your full lunch" (because by law you need to be given a certain amount of lunch depending on how many hours you work) but then you're told, if work's not done you need to stay until it is, and now people don't want to take their full lunches because it means they'll have to stay after work longer, is that coercion a violation of any federal labor laws?

My work-life balance in vet school is non-existent and I’m exhausted. Is this what being a veterinarian will be like too, or does it get easier?
