I feel LinkedIn is a scam in general.
It is now.
Not even a little. I did the free trial and gained nothing from it. I suppose there may be a small benefit to people actively job hunting, but it seems like a feature that's more useful for recruiters.
I think it is helpful and insightful to have the premier but if I was not job searching, I wouldn’t use it.
I generally feel that LinkedIn should have to pay me to look at it. I did try the premium thing during some promotion a while back and didn't see much value in it. Maybe if you were in sales or something where your life was networking it would be a useful thing. But for me it did nothing.
Hell to the no
Not at all. I've never signed up for the trial because we all know how that happens and who wants to fight to unsubscribe?
It's way too expensive.I mean I think it's like almost 70 bucks a month!! I can only see it being useful for recruithere's for HR. In other words people who do the hiring.
Nope.
I agree it’s a scam. All they do is sell your information and make money off of people looking for jobs
Only when they offer it for free, then I cancel before I have to pay. 😅
I had it for 6 months and saw no value to it. The jobs where I’m a good candidate are almost exactly like the recommended jobs.
Yes it allows you to message people you are not connected with…recruiters, hiring managers etc.
I got my current job through LinkedIn free version when a recruiter reached out for a state position. I reached directly out to the hospital instead, I love my job, and it is the best benefits I have ever had in my 13 year career as a registered dietitian.
Not really forgot I even had it
no, i work for myself .. linkedin job postings are for show, anything $120k and above is going to a nepotism type contact..linkedin is useful for checking out credentials, education and lack of clinical experience in those in high paid leadership roles, confirming my suspicions of nepotism/ corrupt system we live in. Hardwork doesn't pay off nor does linkedin premium
No, speaking honestly I do not.
I’ve been out of work for 7 months.
I’ve been offered 2 positions just to have them rescinded for reasons unknown to me.
I am in a time in my life where I must depend on God because I would’ve never ever suspected that I’d be without work, with all of the work that I put into curating my skills.
Sorry for the segue.
I do not see a notable improvement in my search with LinkedIn. I still have it in hopes that something will go well for me. I’ve just lost my unemployment benefits as well.
I will just ask if anyone remembers this post, please pray for me.
Praying for you. I’m in the sane boat - just trusting God for yhe position He wants me to have. He certainly makes better decisions than Me. You should trust that God shut that door for a reason — have faith, he likely has something better for you!!
No I don’t!
It’s so expensive! I will do the free trial when it comes up but haven’t even found that super worthwhile.
I've had luck with it. Honestly what else are you using to find prospective employers in the medical industry?
not helpful. Also, it’s a little depressing as the platform algorithm constantly shows you people who are being promoted or getting new jobs, which can make a person who isn’t doing that feel stagnant. In reality, those high level jobs are pretty rare,
No
For me personally, no. I've had an account for> 10 years. I just finished another free trial month of Premium, as I am actively job searching. I did not have any need for the extra features, the free version is just fine for me.
