We all know it’s harder, but haven’t had the experience of applying while unemployed. For those with this experience, all other things equal, as a percent (for example, 200% harder), how much harder would you say it is to find a new job 2 months after being unemployed vs. finding a job while still at the company you will be laid off from in a couple months?

NJ based company with many remote employees. Considering opening up opportunities to CA residents but nervous as I know they have different labor laws. What are the most obvious ones that stick out that I should be considering(i.e reimbursement of home office expenses, wage transparency)? We offer private STD/LTD, equipment package, all exempt salary employees.

Just wondering all, during salary negotiations if you give them a 15k range and they offer the complete minimum is that disrespectful and how much is a reasonable amount to rebut by. I'd def be okay with the minimum but I always hear they expect negotiations. Also how often do they even offer their best $$

It is getting annoying how california is raising the price of gas again for another tax hike effective July 1st to “fix the roads” Why would we continue to tax people when we have a crazy surplus in our budget but instead we decide to hand out free money to people when we could invest this money in our infrastructure and help fix our roads.
