Better remote so you can scream in a pillow off camera - it really helps
Well, there's that too!
My face comes with sub-titles, although hard to separate home/work life when working remote, I find it easier cause no one can see my facial reactions.
My workplace is so toxic, so much work, not enough people, and I am working until 9 or 10 pm and then have to commute home (which at that time takes less than an hour, when in normal rush hour traffic it takes 1.5 hours on a good day or 2 hours on a bad day). My prior job was mostly remote for 6 years, and while I also worked 60 hours at that job, and it was a stressful job, I did not lose 3-4 hours in traffic per day, did not have to spend money on makeup, clothes, gas, frequent oil changes, tires, and other car maintenance (I commute 110 miles total a day), meal prep for work lunches, waste time putting on makeup and styling my hair, try to cram everything that may need doing at home (termite inspection, roof inspection, fridge repair, etc.) into my one remote workday a week. Oh, and I earned 50% more at that job than my current one. So, yeah, I would take a stressful remote job over a crappy-paid, overworked-with-low-skill-tasks, mostly-in-office job like my current one any day (am looking for other roles, and have interviewed and got to thr final stage with one, but no luck yet).
In office has always been worse for me. I get what you're saying though, working remotely effectively removes the line between your work and personal lives. Still prefer it to in-office, but it can be hard to maintain balance.
