Do you have enough savings to survive 3 months if you lost your job? I’m paycheck to paycheck so I barely have savings. It worries me because I really can’t afford to lose my job - I think I’m pretty safe… but you never know in this economy! How’s your financial safety net?

Cash reserves id make it about a month and a half at best.

Hey that’s better than most of us! I honestly don’t know if I’d make it at all - probably have to immediately start using credit card.

No, I wouldn’t make it 3 months. The only reason I’d make it even a little bit is because I’m mostly caught up right now. I am trying to build that safety net, just always feels like something goes wrong.

Hey better to make it a little than to not be able to make it at all! But yeah, I agree, I feel like I save and then something comes up where I need the $… and I’m back to paycheck to paycheck 😵‍💫

Definitely not. I'm barely surviving paycheck to paycheck. Had to put groceries on my credit card yesterday. Some months are better than others, but summer has been unusually slow this year.

Same for me! It’s been a rough year - with inflation and income stagnation… it’s just been brutal.

I could probably last for about three hours if I lost my job 😆 but really, I wish I had more of a safety net. Every time we get some savings, some kind of emergency happens: the car engine goes out, the kid needs clothes, some crazy unexpected bill happens. I would love to have three months of savings, but I'm not realistically sure how that's going to look with my current pay.

Exactly my sentiments - my life is full of those emergency payments! I guess my other option is to get a second job, but I’m so exhausted as is…

I'm paycheck to paycheck myself, so not good at all. If I lost my job, I'd have maybe 3-4 weeks to find a new one before things really got desperate. I'm trying to save more just in case, but it's really hard to do.

I’m having a hard time saving at all - I just hope I don’t lose my job because I’m toast if I do!

I barley make 16 hrs every two weeks now my store manager doesn't know how to run a store

You only get put on for 16h in 2 weeks? No way man. I’d go find another job asap!

Not right now. I depleted my savings account paying off some debt and credit cards so now I am basically pay check to pay check as well. Trying to save back up but saving is really hard.

Sigh. Yep. Life is hard…

Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
