JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.
DM me for more details.

Yes, sr manager implies a higher status. Sr marketing manager shows me they are an individual contributor, whereas sr mgr shows me they are a people manager. At AWS we have these exact roles, and SMM is an L6, and Sr Mgr, marketing would be an L7
Then yeah it kinda seems sketchy. If I see someone say “Senior Manager” it means they’re either a people manager / one step below a Director.
For my company, we have 9 levels... 9 being CEO
When I was an L3, I was “Program Management, Sr”
Now, I’m a L6 people manager, so I am “Senior Manager, Program Management”
Next, I’ll be a Director (L7) and then VP (L8).
So I think it definitely implies seniority at least from the outside looking in.

Difference is a comma! I feel like senior managers everywhere present their titles differently.
It doesn't mean anything different within one company, but of course companies differ in whether an SMM is a people manager or an IC. But the main reason people change it is for search reasons. To get more "senior manager" leveled positions it's best to put senior and manager next to each other as a search term, then marketing after. Because other than that, they will get caught in "marketing manager" searches as well
Continuity is key. You’re in charge? Have them change it back to what is expected. Done and done
Sounds like he is showing you his issues.
Senior Manager, Marketing sounds like a Manager of the function and possibly people where Senior Marketing Manager sounds like managing a function in Marketing and likely and IC position. People try to make themselves sound more important.
Yes, there is a difference. Senior Manager, Marketing implies that they are in a higher status than the others.
Totally agree with D1 above!
