With a thousand consultants in line, you'd think someone would have come up with a better TSA pre-check process 🤔

They need to have 2 pre-check lines: 1) pre-check with airline status and 2) pre-check without. That way tourists who bought pre-check but don’t know what they are doing are in their own line.

like

Yeah, it’s called CLEAR.

like

I don't get how CLEAR is a better process, same security process, just a biometric scan instead of an id check

like

CLEAR can only be used in some airports..I've only seen it at a handful of East Coast airports

like

Wish BOS had CLEAR.

like

Is it still precheck when every other person is randomly selected?

like

CLEAR doesn't speed up the security process, just gives you a priority ID line. An example of speeding up security is how ATL lets 5 people / line load bins in parallel so you don't have someone holding up the line

like

How is CLEAR better?

like

You're assuming they would listen.

like

You can do Clear and Pre-check. They scan your fingers or your eyes and you get to go ahead of all the pre-check people who have to pull out their IDs. It’s hit or miss depending on how long pre-check lines are. If you don’t have pre-check you can also do Clear and regular line. You get to skip in front of everyone pulling out their IDs, but still have normal security procedures.

like

@p4 Yes. The new bin loading system is great. Have seen in a few airports now. Just need to make sure ppl return the bins so it doesn't create a jam.

like

At least you can use precheck, breh

P4 - that process seems slower to me.

Clear lets me totally cut the precheck lines, which lately seem to be getting longer and longer

D1 you're incorrect

Clear can save you one minute at DCA during peak times. If one minute is that valuable to you??

I got a decent deal on a small 1 bed in a luxury building (hell’s kitc). Should I do a 12 month lease or 24m?

Got the rent negotiated to under 3k + free amenities for a year (gym, pool, etc.). I’m afraid rent will atleast go back to the original price (+5%) and then some. The building has some sort of rent control but that’s predicted to go away in less than 1 year as per the lease. The legal rent limit is way higher.

Would love some perspective on renewal experience after 1 year. TIA.

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time
