Typical ACN timeline:
A -> C: 2-3 years
C -> M: 2-3 years
M -> SM: 3-4 years
SM -> MD: 3-4 years
Aggregate of A -> MD in 10-14 years with variability on both sides of course (E.g. My current MD did M-MD in 4-5 years). The race does start over again when you reach MD as we have 4 levels of MD (CL4-1).
