Is there a prestige gap between the big 4 and ACN that is big enough to be worth taking a detour to the big four before exiting consulting? Depending on your perspective you might not see acn as less prestigious than say ey/pwc/kpmg but curious what people think the general perception is. (Not talking about strategy& or Parthenon)
How to deal with jealousy over friends and peers getting amazing job offers amidst my struggle to find a new role? It keeps happening and today my friend informed me he’s leaving for a 35% pay raise. I’m making 50K less than him now and feel criminally underpaid by my lackluster company.
Any single moms who raised boys? My first kid, I grew up as an only child with no brother, and really clueless as to how to raise a boy. I’d have an easier time with a girl since I kinda know how
Has anyone jumped from Big 4 Advisory to Tier 1 Consulting firms (e.g. MBB). Was the jump at the same, higher or lower level?
Just came from dinner #meettheparents at my bf's family overheard his mom talking to him in the kitchen b4 we left "you didn't tell us she was colored.." um beyond awkward..they were so nice cont.
Deloitte GPS consultant range? I’d heard they are slightly higher than the rest of the big 4 in the public sector space
How do the pension benefits work for partners/principals at the big 4? Can anyone share details on vesting rules or calculations? I assume it varies from firm to firm…just wanting to understand the difference with what Accenture offers MD’s (401k, VEIP).
Prepping to ask for a raise as a female strategist in Toronto with 8 years industry experience. Making $85K with decent benefits and vacation. Any suggestions on what to ask for and how to ask?
Really wanna try secondment/global mobility program, but really want to quit PwC as well... do other big 4 do global mobility program too?
Guess who makes me feel better after a rough day at school... my dog :) Thank goodness for our fur babies! Raise your hand if you agree!
Anybody been offered a promotion with no corresponding pay rise? I assumed that was impossible but am worried that may be what's on offer. Surely not??!
Thoughts on giving yourself a promotion to a CD when you start freelancing if you where long due for a promotion anyway?
What is average raise for a senior in Mid West area during a non promotion year. If you can specify senior 1, 2 or 3 along with percent raise that would helpful.
Is it an issue if I’ve never been internally promoted? Started at B4, left at 1.75 years (was green lighted for promotion but left before it took effect) to MBB (entry level) but haven’t received a promotion yet there and won’t until after I submit my apps.
Any tips on asking for a pay raise? Ive been working so hard and getting great feedback... but struggling so much to afford daycare and all of our normal expenses while still trying to save.
Qualifying in 6 months. Difficulty in transitioning to forensic accounting/a similar sort of area from audit? (More than happy to leave big 4)
I went to my boss at work and said, "I need a raise. Three other companies are after me." He said, "Really? Which other companies are after you?" I said, "The electric, water and gas companies"
Has anyone ever requested a weekend interview for a PE or credit fund shop? Are people amenable to that?
Stuck at ATL. 4 hour delay!!
Facebook vs Google - What are some of the biggest work culture differences btwn the two? Particularly for someone coming from big 4 into tech.
Is it normal for PwC to downgrade you from a sr position you applied on their job portal to a experienced associate? I was told I will be fast tracked and the offer they gave me is on par with the base salary of a SA. Seems like I can’t negotiate the position.
My Kellogg interview is in a couple days but I haven’t received a zoom link yet. Should I contact them tomorrow?
Switching from audit to advisory. Have offer internally. How much of a premium would you negotiate for to move externally to another big 4 advisory over and above the internal advisory offer?
What do you all do once you hit hours and want to coast (or just not work at all) for the rest of the year? I recently took vacation so feel weird taking another back to back, and my existing matters are still busy. Should I just do it? Could probably take 3 weeks completely off and still hit hours.
Anyone left to back back to school for a more technical degree like MS in Statistics instead of an MBA or similar and did it go well?
Mask off: Journalist to freelance copywriter. Started working full-time under contract for an agency that won't hire me. I've freelanced for agencies and in-house marketing teams, but I'm always the outsider looking in. I want to transition to a full-time permanent gig. Interviews seem to go well, 2 agencies went to 3 interviews and nothing. I know I'm totally missing something that agency insiders would understand. Would love advice on navigating uncharted territory. Thank you!
Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.
I’m done trying to compensate for a broken system. I know it means that the kids will suffer from a substandard education, but as long as they think we will pick up the slack it will never change.
I had a dream that I forgot to mute on a weekend firmwide call, began gossiping with my roommie about who's fucking who & what a fluid-covered mess it was, &my boss fake fired me to teach me a lesson
How many YOE do you think someone should have to be in a senior consultant position? I’ve seen so much variety across firms.
Currently preparing the TAM final round interview (RRK2, GCA, Googleyness/Leadership). Any tips that you might share regarding the three of those? Thanks
