Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company

You have time for that? I think if they found out they would wonder why you aren’t working for them more.
Don't say anything to anyone. Just do it. I know people that did/do it on the side.
Audit senior 1 - horrible advice if you plan on working at big4 for more than a few years. When you get an audit independence, or if you’re up for partner, they will see your tax returns or pull a credit history or otherwise find the additional income and it will not be pretty. I would expect immediate termination for breech of code of conduct.
I always say: Be honest, be open. Trust me, it’s not worth it. Your credibility makes people trust you and if one finds out you lied, you are loosing all credibility and trust is hard to gain back
That is horrible logic EY3. Are you not cheating on your spouse if you never tell anyone? Not filing a fraudulent tax return if you never tell anyone? Not insider trading if you never tell anyone. That’s just dumb.
I don’t see it being against policy provided you aren’t giving tax advice to your customers. You need to disclose it for sure during quarterly independence and will require SSL leadership approval as for all extracurricular work
Picking up a few fares a week just on your way home should pay for parking... Agree it probably is against policy for big 4 but tempting.
Not a lie if you never tell anyone
We were told at 401 training that we can’t drive for uber since it is an EY client.
I know friend at KPMG that ran their plan to drive for Uber by HR and was shut down.
Ey1, they really dont look past your last year of being a manager. So it's not all that concerning if it is a staff or senior doing it now
Anyone can get an independence audit.
Uber may be a client but it is not an AUDIT client and that is what matters!
