Me! It can be great if the exec has something interesting to say and/or is lower ego. Many don’t fit this description. But I like that when focused on executive communications you can build a versatile skill set spanning events, earned, writing, internal comms, etc.

Second what the VP above said. It's such a great way to build an integrated comms skills set and in my experience, it challenges you in the best way. You constantly have to be thinking two steps ahead and approach things from all aspects of PR (earned, social, digital, crisis, internal comms, etc.).

It’s a great way towards an in-house career too nowadays, I see a lot of leader comms/exec comms openings in-house

I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?

I just got a really great offer, only downside is the eligibility for maternity leave is after 12 months of employment. We got a faint positive today but have had so many chemical pregnancies over the past year that I am not confident it will stick this time BUT I am on aspirin and progesterone for this try … so it could.. I want to see if I could negotiate being eligible earlier but I also don’t want them to think I’m pregnant when I’m not actually… How would you approach the conversation?

- how many support staff you have on those accounts
- how many active pitches you send per month for those clients on average

Thanks all!
