Does anyone else find it insulting or weird when you send a LinkedIn invitation to someone (in your line of profession), and they look at your profile but don't accept it? Like, do they not realize I can see profile views? lol

They weren't going to accept your invite anyways. But wanted to click on buttons while they were doomscrolling on the toilet. Everyone's profile looks the same. Requests come in all the time. It's LinkedIn, they already forgot it ever happened, won't remember when they see you.

I don't care if they remember, lol; I just find it weird, considering we do the same line of work and I am at the same seniority level. Given the city the person was in, the industry is small, and the work done as strats is smaller. So, I found it interesting that I will run into them sooner rather than later.

No, can't say that I find it weird or insulting, but I don't really put too much value on LinkedIn interactions. Some people have different criteria for why or why not they would accept an invitation, I don't think you should necessarily take it personal. '

I think everyone gets so many cold emails and LinkedIn requests and random sales messages it's expected for people to be a bit skeptical. I don't take any of it personally. People just have different expectations of how the platform should be used.

I just did this earlier, but went to block said person 😂 You have to view the profile to block.

They may not have realized that you have Premium and can see they viewed your profile. Given your similarities maybe the person saw you as competition for some reason rather than a peer. LinkedIn is silly, people don’t use it for its intended purpose - networking.

Not to be rude but no one owes you anything and people have busy lives.

I hate when someone just sends me a request with zero context or information. Did you provide a note in your request?

Add a note to your requests and you’ll see less ghosting. If there is no note, people need to find the why behind the request on their own, that’s if they care, and if in their quest (checking out your profile) they don’t find the answer, they won’t follow through. As others have mentioned, LinkedIn spam DMs and requests are getting a bit much. I personally revive on a stage 5 sales pitches + requests daily. So much so that in my bio clearly states, Biz dev folks, thanks but not thanks!

Starting to think about making the switch from agency to brand side. Any tips from strategists who have already made the jump? And is there a level at which it makes the most sense (i.e. should I wait until I make Director and then make the switch, or does it not really matter)?

I'm new to marketing and I am not formally educated in it. I have just been learning through experience with the business. I have an expensive subscription to a reporting database and I am supposed to translate these technical reports into 20-30 slides. I can't figure out if I am overthinking something simple or lacking some knowledge that people formally learn in school.
