Does anyone have any idea of a really, really nice and high-end thing to do with a client in the Chicago western suburbs? Something roughly equivalent to Alinea with wine pairing, but in the western suburbs. It needn't center on food and wine; I just used Alinea as an example as to price point and general impression.

Or a private wine tasting with the reserve bottles at the northcott liquerette?

We are on the same track - that is the ONLY thing I could think of.

Look around downtown Glen Ellyn,Elmhurst and Naperville. Fire and Wine isn’t super high end, but there’s always a table of investment bankers and their wives there enjoying dinner on a week night.

like

Gosh yeah all I can think of is Vie and I am from the area. Maybe Meson Sebika in Naperville. Possibly Topaz in Burr Ridge or boring Capital Grill I guess? The Drake? El Tapeo? The new 3 Arts at Restoration Hardware? I think Roka Akor might have a tasting menu?

like

Thanks! I have seen some ... things at Meson Sebika. None of them the fault of the restaurant, but rather of the overly drunk patrons. Maybe they have a super special private room or something - that would be good. Roka Akor and Capital Grill are in my usual rotation, and I have been wanting to get to 3 Arts. I was not aware of Topaz, The Drake (aware of the one in the city of course, but not suburbs), or El Tapeo - so thank you! Lots of info that is new to me.

Cadence in Downers Grove is quite nice.

Not overthinking - I kind of need to spend ~$9k in the very short term. It would be easier in the city....

Do you know anybody at butterfield, Ruth Lake, or ideally Butler (if all men) that could sponsor you for a private dining experience? Pretty sure at all 3, you need a member to make the connection

I am female and CCs around here are super sexist. Not the case where I am from, east of the Mississippi watershed. Even in the 1980s CCs out east weren't sexist like those around here. It is pretty shocking actually. Thank you, though.

It does not need to be food-centric. Maybe there is some sort of private boat charter in a suburban water area or something like that? Although I can't think of a water area in the western burbs that could handle a lux boat.

I am not from around here, so I really appreciate any and all insights.

While we are at it - this one not client related - I would love to know if there is any natural body of water where one can swim without getting arrested or having chemicals seep in through the skin, and with leeches not exceeding the size of golf balls (looking at you, "hidden" portion of the DuPage "River").

Brigadeiro are scrumptious dulce de leche caramel bonbons, a beloved confection of Brazil. Brigadeiro is made from sweetened condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder which is heated in a saucepan until it thickens and becomes a sticky caramel. Once it cools, it is rolled into a ball and dipped in multicolored sprinkles.

The iconic bonbon was named after Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, a 1946 presidential candidate. It was created to win voter support. (He lost).
