Sorry to hear that. There's a bigger and brighter future for you than u could have ever imagined ahead of you. I can't tell you about unemployment, but I'm sure you won't need it long ❤️
Thank you, people like you (who take time out of their day to be nice to stranger for no reason other than to be nice) give me hope 🙂
Four weeks? That's brutal
^^ I thought so too, I had been under the assumption that 8 weeks was the standard.
State offices usually have pretty clear websites and resources for this. The cross-state one is a good question. I would check out the unemployment sites at both. Good luck.
It depends on the state. When I did it, there was a week long waiting period and you didn't get anything for the weeks your severance continued.
@ey1 live in MD, work in VA. Which one's laws apply?
Best of luck
Standard is 1 week per year of employment. Check a pay stub to see where unemployment insurance is paid to. May be abbreviated as UI.
OP, apply in both, and they'll tell you. I worked in DC, lived in VA. I eventually got unemployment from one of them--DC, I think.
There is light at the end of the tunnel.
DC people back in the spring got 8 weeks. What group at D are you in OP? That may be the difference
Good luck! Not sure if this is of help, but when I got laid off from my previous job, I was able to file for unemployment pretty much the day after my last day. You may have to wait a week before you start getting paid, but file ASAP.
The state you live in is the state to apply to--tax purposes. Best of luck, OP. Been there, done that. And if you're doing classified work in federal... Switch to commercial.
MD, DC, VA have a special employment arrangement in place, so everything is handled through your home state. What practice @OP? Sorry to hear about the cut
Are you in federal, OP?
I was in federal analytics, now I'm in the hustle 😶
OP- were you off on your utilisation? Did they give you any reason why they laid you off? Also any web development experience?
Nope, was at ~104%. My entire practice was torn apart with Ms and SMs fired.
Yeah I heard Deloitte Analytics wasn't exactly taking off. That's a shame
Can someone confirm if this is Federal / Mission Analytics as opposed to other Analytics groups in Deloitte?
