Sterling was unable to verify some of my international work-ex directly from the employer. However, I have provided supporting docs (pays stubs, tax returns).

Am I correct in my understanding that:

Over a certain income ($76k as of 2021), a single person CANNOT make tax-free contributions to a traditional IRA if you have a workplace retirement plan?

In my example, I have a work 401k, and my adjusted gross income is over (or just about hovering) at the 76k limit. This means I can't make pre-tax contributions to a traditional IRA, so I should just go for a Roth?

How can I lower my taxes? I feel like I pay a LOT (30%+) but don’t get many benefits in return.
